Can You Pick Up Women in an Elevator?

I walked towards the elevator and pushed the button. I could hear it make that old familiar ding! sound and I knew from experience that it would be a few minutes before it came back down to the main lobby.

"Man," I thought to myself, "This building really needs to get a new elevator."

I was use to this wait and even being used to it, I was still feeling a little bit anxious.

My friend was out of town and lucky for me, I was the first person he thought of when he needed someone to feed his cat.

So, here I was, in the middle of the afternoon, waiting for this antique elevator to go all the way up and come all the way back down. It wasn't exactly where I wanted to be at that moment, but I was willing to put up with the frustration of it all to help out my friend.

As I paced back and forth a few times, my mind kind of going off somewhere deep in thought, I heard the next ding. A slow whine soon followed as the elevator doors, which were in terrible need of some grease, opened up.

This elevator is not for someone who feels claustrophobic.

Two people can barely fit comfortably inside and there is an old musty smell that reminds you that this particular building was built in the early 1900's.

I stepped inside and reached over to push the button for the 8th floor.

I leaned back against the wall, started to close my eyes a little and that's when I heard her.

"Wait! Wait! I'm coming," she screamed out.

Have you ever heard a woman's voice, and just by the sound of it, you just knew that she was going to be gorgeous?

Sometimes you get surprised and the voice just doesn't match the face, but this time, the voice matched the face perfectly.

I looked out and saw this beautiful brunette, probably about 25 years old running towards the cramped little cube I was standing in.

I reached out my hand to block the door from closing.

Our eyes met and hers gave that look that said, "Thank you," and I was pleased that I could help such a beautiful woman. Even if it was just holding an elevator for a few extra seconds, it still gave me that feeling of being her hero, if only for a moment.

She came inside the elevator, slightly out of breath and with a fragrant flowery aroma that drowned out that old musty smell I was used to.

"Thank you so much. I hate this elevator, it's so slow," she said to me with a smile beaming across her face.

"No problem," I replied as I took in her smile, feeling a little less anxious and not at all minding in that moment that the elevator was pretty slow. At a time like this, just me and a beautiful woman inside an elevator, I wouldn't mind it if the elevator didn't move at all.

We started to chat a little and by the time we reached the 8th floor, where I was getting off, she was laughing hysterically with her hand pressed against my shoulder.

"Man," I thought, "I really wished that elevator ride wasn't so fast today."

Much to my surprise, as I started to walk away, I heard her cry out again.

"Wait! I don't usually do this - but, can I have your phone number?"

"Sure," I replied, "Why don't I get yours"

We exchanged phone numbers and as we did, the elevator door closed without her in it.

"Sorry, looks like you missed your ride," I said to her.

"Don't be sorry, I don't mind. Besides, there is a set of stairs just around the corner, didn't you know about them?" she asked.

All of this time I had been going to my friend's building, I actually never knew there was a set of stairs. Had I known, I probably would have taken them and not waited for that decrepit elevator. Of course, had I done that, I would have never met her. Never would have had that experience and never gotten her phone number.

Most guys don't realize that there are these kinds of moments all throughout the day. If you just keep your eyes open and embrace an opportunity when it presents itself, you don't have to wait to go to a bar or a club to pick up a beautiful woman.

In fact, if the only places that you go are bars and clubs, then you are missing out on a lot of available women out there.

Some women never step inside of a club and they don't go out to bars. This is especially true of career minded women and women who just are not keen on the drinking scene. I am always surprised when guys say that it's hard to meet women. Because I think of experiences like the one I just shared.

Of course, it wasn't always that way for me. I used to have more of a scarcity mindset about meeting women. And I used to assume that bars and clubs and online dating sites were the only chances that I had to meet women.

Yes, you can pick up women in an elevator. You can also pick them up anywhere else that you happen to go.
