Behaviours to Avoid If You Want to Pick Up a Woman

I've written a lot on the subject of how to act when you want to pick up a woman. Now I'm going to write about behaviours to avoid if you want to impress/pick up a lady. This should all be pretty obvious but some men just don't understand why they can't totally let loose, be and act how they want to and still get the girl. Like I said, these ones are pretty much no-brainers but a refresher on behaviours to avoid seem to be in order.

Be yourself, by all means. After all, honesty is the best policy but there are some behaviours that do not make the man and should be reserved for your time out with your other male friends. It does not matter how big your social circle is or how many women are in it when you enter a club. If you are constantly swearing, making rude noises and drinking too much, you might as well throw the towel in for the night where meeting women is concerned because no woman wants to be around men that they consider to be beneath them.

Women like to surround themselves with educated and socially aware people. It goes without saying that they will be looking for this in any potential man in their life. A well placed curse word can have a powerful thrust to it but excessive swearing shows a lack of education. If every sentence you utter has the "F" word in it, this is a problem. Your male friends may see this as cool but you've just eliminated any chance with any woman you may be interested in that night. Yes, the "F" word is the most flexible word in the English dictionary. It can be used as an adjective, noun, verb, adverb, etc. However, if you lack the ability or self-control to cull from your memory a more appropriate word to replace it, women and others around that are meeting you for the first time will definitely see you as being from the 'wrong side of the tracks' and with this naturally follows a lack of being morally or socially aware as is viewed by women. Women aren't into this. They want an intelligent man that has a vocabulary that can match her own. Remember: Women are conversationalists at heart and if you want to impress one, you need to be able to speak proper English, especially if you're meeting a woman for the first time.

Women like to think of themselves as delicate creatures and like their men to have good manners. If you're one of those guys in the club that thinks that a big woman draw is belching or releasing gas as loudly as you can, you are woefully in need of help. Again, you have the numbers, sexes and ages correct with your social circle in place to draw women to you, but no social circle, no matter how powerful will ever be able to help draw that special someone to you. You may even turn off some of the women in your circle and they won't want to be seen with you again because everyone is judged by the company they keep. Displaying a lack of manners on this kind of scale in public AND while you are trying to attract a woman indicates that you lack maturity which is another huge turnoff for women. They want a man, not an animal that walks and talks. I'm not saying you can't have this kind of fun anymore or act immature, just do it on your night out with the guys. We guys get this kind of humor. Women don't.

Finally, don't over imbibe. It's fun to have a few drinks and let loose but when a few drinks turns into so many that you are weaving while you try to walk, you can again kiss any chance at attracting a woman to you this time. Hitting on women while you are too inebriated to stand is not a good idea, especially if this is the club you go to on a regular basis. You will only get rejected and women have very long memories. The next time you're out at the club, they will all target you off their list of potentials because they see you as that alcoholic that was making a fool out of himself last weekend. There are times to drink as much as you want and there are times when you want to try to pick up a woman. Don't try to combine the two because next weekend you'll be trying to find a new club where you don't carry the master status of drunken loser. Again, keep the drinking to a minimum when you're out to impress women. Alcohol does relax the system so a couple drinks can give you courage to approach that beautiful lady that has been eying you. So go lightly.

Fortunately, all of these behaviours don't have to block you from picking up women. Just keep it clean, guys. Use the English you were taught in school to show that you are an educated man. Remember the manners that you're mother taught you and save the gas for the bathroom or boys night out. Finally, just have a couple of drinks when you're out. Liquid courage can be helpful when you want to approach a woman. However, if you find you are constantly drinking to the point that you are having problems walking a straight line, there is help out there for you in groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous. Get your act together before trying to attract a woman. I can't think of any woman out there that would seriously consider taking on an alcoholic as a potential mate, especially when surrounded by so many other choices. Above all guys, have respect for all women out there and respect for yourself and the rest will follow naturally.
