Although some aspects may differ, I think we can all agree that there are many key differences between real men and boys. For example, a real man would want a stable relationship or even marriage. Boys just want to screw around, maybe date someone for a while, but it's never going to get serious. You may be at that point in your life where you're looking for the right guy, something that lasts. So how can you tell if the guy you're with is a man or a boy? Read on and I'll tell you.
Communication Habits
When you call your man, does he answer right away? Do you get his voicemail more often than you get him? Of course there's always the possibility that he's busy when you call, but if he's a real man, he'll call you back and let you know why he didn't pick up the first time. If you're constantly getting his voicemail, chances are you're being screened.
If this is happening, then likely you're not the only woman on his list that he's seeing. Another thing to look at is when you are out with him. Is his phone going off constantly? When it does, does he answer or let it go? If his phone is always ringing when he's with you, then he could be getting calls from other women. The same can be said if it seems like he doesn't want to answer his phone in front of you. This is by no means always the case. He could be ignoring calls when he's with you out of simple respect for the time you're spending together. This one is tough, but watch how he acts about it and you'll know if you have a player in good man's clothing.
Actions Matter, Not Words
Any guy can tell you how wonderful you are, what you mean to him, and sound totally sincere while doing it. The real question is if he truly means what he says or not and you'll know by his actions. If he truly loves and cares about you, he will show it by the things he does, and consistently. A player, or a boy, whichever you want to call it, may act like he likes you or even act like he's in love with you at the beginning of your time together. However, these behaviors will lessen over time if he's not truly feeling what he says he does.
Promises, Promises
Just like any guy can say he loves you, any guy can make a promise to you, whether it's to call you, set up a date, whatever. A real man will always keep his promises to you, and if he can't, he has a good reason why. More often than not, these reasons are verifiable. A boy will be inconsistent with his promises, breaking more than he keeps and breaking your heart in the process if you're not careful.
To protect your heart and save yourself a lot of pain, it's highly recommended to watch and take careful notes, comparing his words to his behaviors. If he's consistently hard to contact, breaks promises, and talks more than he acts, then you likely have a player boy on your hands. It's time to get rid of him and find yourself a real man, someone who will be honored to hold your heart and will gladly take care of it..
